Expressive Writing and Painting Workshop

We will gather for a week-long workshop of expressive writing and painting in an intimate setting at the historic Holden Inn on upper Cape Cod. Originally built in 1840 as a sea captain's home, the comfortably restored Inn has been accommodating guests for over half a century. Wellfleet is a small village situated on the Cape Cod National Seashore, and renowned for its bay-farmed oysters, protected harbor for sailboats and fishing boats, and magnificent dunes bordering the Atlantic Ocean beaches. The village also offers over twenty art galleries with painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and glass represented by local, national and international artists, as well as restaurants, boutiques and a theater.

Expressive writing and painting encourage release of emotions and memories through creative channels for healing and wellness. The focus of the workshop is on process not result. We will write and paint together in the mornings, and gather in the early evenings for a salon of sharing creativity before dining on New England seafood or continental cuisine at nearby restaurants. Afternoons are free to write and paint, roam the local galleries and boutiques, and relax on the nearby beaches.

Facilitator: The Writing and Painting Workshop is facilitated by Ronni Miller, author and Director of Write It Out®. Her work as a writer, playwright, editor, and educator led to her founding and developing Write It Out®, a motivational writing program for students of all ages. Miller lectures and teaches motivational and expressive writing in the United States and abroad. She is a charter institutional member of the National Association of Poetry Therapy (NAPT), and is the author of two books: Dance With The Elephants, Free Your Creativity And Write, and Where To Go With Your Lover. Her essays, short stories and poems have been published and her plays and performance pieces have been produced in schools and at theatrical readings. She encourages expression of feelings and thoughts through the pen and the paint brush. Miller divides her time between Sarasota, FL, Woodstock, NY and Italy.

Cost: $650.00 per person, includes workshop and evening salons. Accommodation, transportation and meals are not included.
